Phoenix Maternity Photographer

I’ve had a recent trend. In the past month I have photographed several women who were pregnant with twins and triplets. With the baby bump getting big fast, they came in much earlier for their maternity photography.

I’m sure it was just an odd coincidence and not something in the water LOL.  Everyone seem really excited about this, which I love to see.   As this joy comes through in the photographs.

The love between a father and his son is a special bound.  And what a better to celebrate Father’s Day than with this photo from one of my newborn photographer clients here in Phoenix.

I know this is a special Father’s day, as it is the first for the two of them together.  His baby son at this young age is just cute as can be.

When Jessica Simpson showed a nude pregnancy photo on the cover of Elle, it created quite a stir in some cities.  Here in Arizona, some stores in Tucson got complaints that it was obscene.

It was the same pose that Demi Moore had done many years earlier on the cover of Vanity Fair.  How is this anything but beautiful?   This is a classic maternity pose that every good maternity photographer will provide for their clients who want it.

Don’t miss out on capturing the beauty of your pregnancy.  You may not want to be as bold as these two, but we will always create some amazing memories.

February was the month for Maternity photos.  I had a ton of pregnant moms come in for photos (no pun intended).  It is always great to see the happiness these new babies are bringing the families.

Another thing I was happy to see was so many brought the dads and siblings in for some photos too.  Nothings better than getting the family photo where everyone is in anticipation of the new child.

This is one of my favorite styles for maternity photographs.  The future mom does not look at the photographer, but instead looks off thinking about her pregnancy.

And of course you see I love to create these photos in black and white.  I find B&W adds to the feeling.

Always get requests for different ideas as a maternity photographer.    This time the desire was to use blue fabric to show off the baby bump.

It is a beautiful way to show the future boy is on the way.  Of course the follow-up with newborn photos is often not far behind.   Can’t wait to meet this little cutie.

Part of what I like about being a maternity photographer is that I can use photographs to show the love for the future child.

I love the mood this type of photo shows.  Pregnancy is a time to be shared.

Often featuring the couple in maternity photographs can create some amazing memories.   This couple is a perfect example of what I am talking about.

So consider doing some couples shots for your maternity session.

I had a great time photographing some twins for their 3 month shoot.  I love to show off the size difference between the baby and the parent.  Here is one of the twins showing off.

Sometimes you just have to have some fun when creating maternity photos.  A lot of moms joke about how big their bellies have become, and this time I asked if we could do something fun.   She was more than willing to get a photo that would be a very non-traditional photo of her pregnancy.

This concept was based upon some photos I had seen of the sunrise over the earth from space.  So with some careful lighting, a fair amount of Photoshop and mom who likes to have fun, this photo was created.

The final photo is a combination of four images.  The belly and the moon are photos which I took, the space is from the Hubble telescope, and the sun flare is a Photoshop created image.

For your maternity photographs, imagination is the only limit.  So talk with your photographer about any ideas you have no matter how “crazy” you think they might be.
